ACW Casualties from Massimo

The latest set in our shop are some ACW casualties, made by Massimo.

Something I always like to have as it brings "life" into a diorama. But I guess for wargamers not so interesting?

Yvan's 16th century collection

My friend Yvan who sculpted the German Landsquenets sent me some photos of his own 16th century collection.

A subject I never had in mind before the 1/72 marked was flowed over with new sets.

Now subjects like the battle of Pavia, or the siege of Kulmbach came into my mind.
Both these subjects I have seen as flat figure dioramas at the figure museum on the Plassenburg in Kulmbach. Here two photos from the siege of Kulmbach diorama there.

And here a few of Yvan's figures

War of the Spanish Succession

Our hobbyfriend Pieter wanted to have a new subject to go ins beside all the Napoleonics he already has.

Being interested in Spanish military history he had several ideas to cover their campaigns.
One is the war of the Spanish succession.

There are already figures on the market, using Zvzeda's and Strelets GNW figures in plastic and my friend old John with his brand 20mm historic revival producing the old ranges of Les Higgins and others in metal I thought this a good idea.

The Spanish army had some special uniforms. On of them the Grenadiers.
So we asked Ingo (who made my Napoleonic Ottomans) if he is interested in making some of them as a start for a new project.

Here is the result

These figures will soon be available in our shop.

Our diorama project for 2018 - Ulundi 1879

In November 2018 is the 2nd Dioramica. We were able to safe us some space (Patrick told me far too much space..:-) ) for our Diorama.

The idea is to show the British square in 1:1 scale and as many of the 25.000 Zulus we are able to paint. At the moment I have 2.667 figures painted, 2281 of them Zulus. As a team we already passed the 5000 figure mark.

So I think Patrick is right when he told me I need half a room for it:-)

Here the organisation of the Britsh square.

And the attack of the Zulu columns.

The Landscape is interesting, here we have to check how we make it

The British fought 4 ranks deep and Rainer already sent me photos of his 1st company of the 80th on the front of the square. Just an idea as they have to be in closer formation.

Being a purist I would refuse to use all the 24th foot figures with green facings for the square. The facing-colors of the units involved in the battle were yellow, blue an black. I am wondering how long I can be strong before and paint new British before I start mixing the green guys between the others....

If someone of you has painted Zulus left he doesn't need (or want to lent for the project) you can help us to fill up the columns which attacked the corners of the square.

French infantry in the Revolution

My mate Michael Schwab sent me these photos of our painted figures over which I want to show you all of course.

My favorites are still the white coated ancient units in this period. What we now would need are skirmishing light infantry in the old green uniform to cover the whole variations of uniforms in the regular units:-)

Teutoburg forrest

I am sure Richard will be happy to see this post as we discussed last week that not much people order ancient figures at the moment.

My complete pipeline of wishes include 90% Napoleonics and just a few other figures.

Now Darek sent these photos of a German warrior for 9-16 AD, fighting the Roman invaders.

This figure is part of a series of the Teutoburg forest on which he is working.
But mark, these figures are not for the shop.

If you want Darek sculpt for you ancient figures, you can contact him at hamilkar216@interia.pl
